Synopsis
Even the most attractive growth opportunity can turn unattractive, unrealistic, or even destructive when bolted onto the wrong core business, or onto the right business at the wrong time. Building growth on a core business that is prepared to support it, and for which the new adjacency moves might even reinforce the strength of that core rather than draining it of its energy, is crucial.
